The Freedom Paradox

You have built a life that most people
only dream of.

You have autonomy over your time, location independence, and a career that moves with you. You are likely surrounded by other high-achievers—entrepreneurs, creators, and founders—in hubs like Bali, Lisbon, or Mexico City.

Yet, despite the stimulation and the freedom, you may have hit a quiet, confusing wall.

It is a specific kind of loneliness that no amount of travel seems to fix. It is not the loneliness of being isolated; it is the loneliness of being surrounded, yet unseen.

When you move every few months, you leave behind the people who witnessed your history. In your new location, you are fresh. You are free to reinvent yourself. But no one there remembers who you were six months ago, and no one is tracking who you are becoming.

The Trap

Why Freedom Becomes a Trap

The most common misunderstanding about the digital nomad lifestyle is that loneliness is a quantity problem. The advice is always the same: “Go to more meetups. Join a co-living space. Network more.”

But for the high-functioning nomad, the problem is rarely a lack of people. You likely know hundreds of people. The problem is a lack of continuity.

Identity is relational. We know who we are by seeing ourselves reflected in the eyes of others over time. This is called "mirroring." When you stay in one place, your environment and your relationships act as a stable container that holds your identity together.

In a nomadic life, that container is broken.

  • Every new city resets your social standing to zero.
  • Every conversation starts with the same surface-level introduction.
  • Every relationship is subject to an imminent departure date.

This prevents you from building a stable sense of self. You stay stuck in a cycle of short-term excitement—constantly having new experiences, but never fully integrating them. You aren’t building a self; you are just accumulating experiences.

The Secure Base

Portable Stability: A Secure Base That Moves With You

If you cannot rely on your physical location to provide stability, you must build a Portable Secure Base.

This is the core function of our work together. It is not just about resolving conflict or stress; it is about creating a structural anchor in your week.

We establish a fixed time slot—same day, same hour, every week—that does not change, regardless of whether you are in Tokyo, Berlin, or Buenos Aires.

The Structure: It is a fixed time in your week. Likely the only hour that is strictly protected, predictable, and entirely yours. It creates a rhythm amidst the chaos of travel.

The Internal Function: It provides a consistent "mirror." I become the keeper of your story. I remember who you were six months ago, so you don’t have to keep re-explaining yourself.

This allows us to bypass the "performer" persona and work directly with the real self underneath. We turn the therapy hour into a portable root system—giving you the psychological stability required to enjoy your freedom, rather than being consumed by it.

Our Focus

Therapeutic Focus: Grounding for the Location Independent

This practice is specialized for the high-functioning professional who is effectively managing their external world but losing contact with their internal one.

We do not try to "fix" your itinerary or hack your mood. We use Gestalt Therapy to slow down the internal processing. We look at how you relate to your environment, how you handle contact and withdrawal, and how you support yourself when the external world provides no support.

A Note on Scope: This page is designed specifically for those in motion (Nomads, Founders, Remote Workers). If your primary focus is settling in Spain (or any other country), navigating local bureaucracy, or cultural integration, please view the Local Therapy page. This page is dedicated to the unique architecture of a mobile life.

Logistics: How Online Gestalt Works

  • Fixed Weekly Slot: We reserve one recurring hour (e.g., Tuesdays at 10:00 CET) that is yours. This eliminates the "admin fatigue" of constant rescheduling and ensures you always have a dedicated space, even when your location changes.
  • Privacy is Your Responsibility: You must secure a private space where you will not be overheard. If you are in a hostel or shared Airbnb, I recommend booking a meeting room in a coworking space or timing sessions for when you have the apartment to yourself.
  • Video First: We use high-definition video (Google Meet). I need to see you—your posture, your micro-expressions, your breathing—to do my job. Audio-only or text is not sufficient for this type of therapy.
  • Time Zone Anchor: My practice operates on Madrid Time (CET/CEST). I work with clients who can align with the 10:00 – 20:00 window in this time zone.
  • Professional Status: Advanced trainee working under EAGT-accredited supervision.

Stabilize Your Process

Common Questions

FAQ: Online Therapy for Nomads

I stay in hostels/Airbnbs. How do I find privacy?
This is a logistical reality we solve immediately. Most clients in your situation book a private meeting room in a coworking space (usually €10–€15/hour) or schedule sessions during "quiet hours" when roommates are out. We can discuss specific solutions during our first call, but securing a space where you feel safe to speak freely is the first step in prioritizing yourself.
Do I need to be a resident of Spain?
No, you do not need to be a resident. I work with international clients globally, provided you are not in a jurisdiction that strictly prohibits foreign telehealth.
Does online Gestalt work as well as in-person?
Absolutely. While we are not in the same physical room, we are in the same "field." Through high-definition video, I pay close attention to your voice, breath, and micro-expressions. For nomads, the screen actually provides a vital "constant"—a window of stability that looks exactly the same whether you are in Bali, Berlin, or Buenos Aires.
What happens when I change time zones?
We maintain your slot in my local time (CET/CEST). If a move makes that slot impossible (e.g., moving from Asia to the Americas), we will negotiate a new fixed slot that suits your new region.
Is this coaching or therapy?
This is therapy. While many high-performance clients use it to clear blocks that affect their work, the process is therapeutic and focused. We explore underlying patterns, not just forward-facing goals.
Can I expense this to my business?
I provide formal EU invoices. Since we often work on blocks related to performance, leadership, burnout, and decision-making, many entrepreneur clients expense these sessions as "Professional Coaching" or "Consulting," depending on the nature of our work and your local tax laws.
Will therapy make me lose my drive to travel?
No. Grounding doesn't mean stopping; it means choosing. The goal is to help you travel because you want to explore, not because you are running away from yourself. We work to deepen your capacity to enjoy the journey, rather than using it as a numbing mechanism.
