Inner Child Journal Prompt Generator

Choose what you want to write toward, how gentle you want the prompts to be, and how much time you have. The tool returns three prompts and a neutral closing step. You do not enter journal text, and your choices stay in memory only while this page is open.

This is an educational reflection tool. It does not assess you, interpret memories, provide therapy, or replace professional or crisis support.

Private writing tool

Build three prompts for the time and depth you have.

Choose a focus, a depth, and two, five, or ten minutes. The tool gives you three fixed prompts and a neutral closing step.

No account. No free-text input. Nothing is saved or sent.

How privacy works

A deliberately small result

Why only three prompts?

A long prompt list can turn the first step into another decision. This tool offers three fixed prompts so you can write briefly, skip anything unhelpful, use the closing step, and move on. “A little deeper” is not a score and it is not better than “very gentle.”

How privacy works

The page accepts no journal text. Focus, depth, time, and the selected prompt set exist only in JavaScript memory for the current page. They are not placed in cookies, browser storage, a URL, a form, an API request, or analytics. Reloading or leaving clears them.

The only permitted lifecycle analytics are aggregate tool_start, tool_complete, and product tool_cta_click events with the public tool identifier and page path. They contain no choice, branch, prompt, timing, safety, or copy information. The Copy prompts button writes the visible result to your clipboard only when you activate it.

Read the broader privacy standard for qualifying fixed-choice browser tools.

Know the boundary

What this tool cannot tell you

It cannot assess you, verify a memory, identify a hidden cause, assign a trauma or attachment label, interpret what you write, provide therapy, or provide crisis support. The prompts are editorial questions selected from the same visible set for everyone.

For a neutral next route, see all Inner Child starting points. If you are deciding whether an app format fits, use the current app comparison.

Questions people ask

Before you use the prompts

Are my journal answers stored?

The tool never asks for journal answers. Your fixed choices and generated prompts stay in current-page memory and disappear when the page reloads or you leave it.

Are these prompts personalized?

No. They are selected from a fixed editorial prompt set using your three fixed choices. The tool does not interpret you or infer a profile.

Why does the tool return only three prompts?

The page is designed to provide a small writing task, not another long list to sort through. You can start again if a different focus or depth would be more useful.

Can this tool tell me what happened in childhood?

No. It cannot verify memories, identify a cause, label a pattern, assess you, or decide what an experience means.

What should I do if a prompt feels overwhelming?

Use “This feels too much,” stop the exercise, and return to neutral present-day details. Seek appropriate human support if you need help staying with the present, and local emergency or crisis support if anyone is in immediate danger.
